First Aid Introductory Experience for Secondary One Students: Building Awareness and Skills to Protect Life

The Hong Kong St. John Ambulance was recently invited to our school to conduct a One-hour First Aid Certificate Lecture for Secondary One students, providing them with an introductory understanding of essential first aid knowledge and emergency response skills.

The session was delivered in an engaging and interactive manner. Through clear explanations, demonstrations, and question-and-answer interactions, instructors encouraged active student participation in a relaxed and positive learning atmosphere.

The course covered a range of fundamental first aid topics, including basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control and bandaging techniques, as well as the management of fainting, burns, and choking emergencies. Hands-on practice was incorporated into the session, enabling students to apply what they had learned through practical demonstrations and guided exercises, thereby enhancing their confidence and understanding.

Through this learning experience, students not only acquired practical life-saving knowledge, but also developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of respecting life and caring for others. The school extends its sincere gratitude to the instructors from the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance for their professional guidance and dedication in helping students take their first steps towards becoming capable and responsible first aid responders.
