The Tuen Mun District Inter-School Basketball Competition Boys’ C Grade Final was held today at Tai Hing Sports Centre, a match that truly tested nerves. Facing the equally strong team from Ho Fuk Tong Secondary School, Ho Ngai’s C Grade boys spent most of the game trailing behind. Yet, the thunderous cheers from parents and classmates became their most powerful “sixth man,” fueling the players with determination.
Our young athletes never gave up. Point by point, they clawed their way back, their fighting spirit burning until the final minute—when they tied the score. In the last five seconds, they surged ahead! The arena erupted in deafening screams, with tension so high that many spectators felt their hearts skip a beat. Ultimately, Ho Ngai achieved a miraculous 45–41 comeback victory, seizing the championship title.
A touching detail: the A Grade seniors remained silent throughout the match, holding up cards that read “Trust.” Afterward, they revealed the reason—they feared that shouting tactical advice in excitement might confuse their younger teammates. When the game ended, they rushed onto the court to embrace the C Grade players, a moment even more moving than the award ceremony itself.
This year marks a historic milestone for Ho Ngai basketball: both the A Grade and C Grade teams crowned champions. A new chapter has been written, deserving of resounding applause.
